The line left behind after sweeping with a broom and dustpan can be stopped by using blue painters tape to tape the front of the dustpan to the floor. This will seal the gap between the dustpan and the floor, preventing any residue from being left behind. This is especially useful for cleaning up glass. You will not have to worry about microscopic pieces being left behind.
